DVC rental FAQ

What are DVC points?

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is Disney's timeshare program. Owners receive a yearly allotment of points they use to book stays at DVC resorts. A room's point cost depends on the resort, room type, season, and day of the week.

How does renting DVC points work?

Owners who won't use all their points can rent them to non-owners. You pay a price per point, and the reservation is made in the owner's account with you as the guest. Some rentals are for a reservation that's already confirmed. Others start as a request that gets booked once points and rooms are available. Rental prices are usually quoted per point, so total cost = points needed × price per point. Try our calculator.

How do booking windows work?

Owners can book their home resort up to 11 months ahead and other DVC resorts up to 7 months ahead. Popular rooms and dates (holidays, deluxe villas with views) often go at the 11-month mark. Closer-in or "late" stays are sometimes cheaper per point, but there are fewer to choose from.

Is renting points cheaper than booking with Disney?

Often, especially for deluxe villas, but it depends on the dates and the price per point. Compare current per-point prices on our prices page.

What should I check before I rent?

Read the cancellation and refund terms, the payment schedule, whether you're getting a confirmed reservation or a request, and whether park tickets and dining are included (they usually aren't).

Are you affiliated with Disney?

No. DVC Rental Tracker is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Disney or Disney Vacation Club. This is general information, not legal or financial advice.
